We just got a phone call from Elder Johnson!! We had exactly five minutes with him - oh, so short. It included a lot of shouting while we tried to gather everyone from the corners of the house, a hasty change of location to collect family members, a "happy birthday" wish from Talon to Miriam, a few blurted questions and answers into the phone on speaker, a recording telling us he has 20 seconds, a group "we love you". Then he was gone. He was allowed to call and tell us that he will be flying out on Wednesday from Salt Lake with other missionaries that all got their visas. His companion is one of them, so he was happy about that. Talon thinks he will still go to the Madrid MTC for about a week, then off to his first assignment in the field. We don't know if he will get a p-day this week to prepare or if we won't hear from him again by letter/email until he has his first p-day there. He did say he could call from the airport, so we will look forward to a few more minutes then. He sounded great and we can't stop smiling!! Hurrah for Israel!
PS If you plan to write to Talon this week, use the dearelder.com and make sure to send it by Tuesday at noon. I will update his mailing address on the left tonight.
