So we haven´t seen any more
snow. Actually, it has warmed up quite a bit lately. It´s almost too
warm to wear a jacket now, except that it´s still cold in the mornings
and the evenings.
So Monday transfers
were actually really calm. The other elders set up transfers so that
they drove people everywhere, which meant that we could stay in the
office (which is actually a good thing because Elder Winkelkotter has
had to do a piso contract for the past couple days and he is finishing
it up today so that the couple has somewhere to sleep tonight. We had
another four missionaries get their visas, so they came in with the
transfer, and we got another email yesterday that some more visas got
approved, so next Tuesday,
we are going to have four more missionaries come in. However, we
finally got caught up, so now the missionaries that get their visas will
be going to the MTC to finish their training, and then they will be
coming in to the mission right on time. So we had two areas open up, and
then the extra companionships were put in the areas where there is a
lot of work to do. No new cities or ward were opened up, but President
is thinking about opening up two in this next transfer.
I guess I didn´t tell you last week, but we didn´t end
up having the baptism, the Sunday before last we sat down and talked
with the girl who was going to be baptized, and she stated, several
times, that she wasn´t going to get baptized until she felt like she
wanted to, and she doesn´t want to right now. Soo, she is going to need
some more time and prayers. Though she has started to read the Book of
Mormon more recently, and she has been speeding through the chapters, so
at this rate she should be feeling better about baptism in a few weeks.
The family of five we finally met with last Friday (at
least three of them) there had been complications and so forth, so we
didn´t see them again until last week when the mom came to church, then
we saw them last Friday and Sunday when we met with them and when they
came to church. they should be pretty good, they seem really interested
in listening. So this week we will probably try to fix a baptismal date
with them this week and Hopefully they can get on their way to baptism
pretty quickly here.
It´s so great to hear about how great everyone is
doing! That´s awesome to hear about Ellie, and Caleb.
Patacones are salted fried banana slices...
I was looking for my patriarchal blessing the other day and couldn´t find it. I might need you to order me another copy if I can´t find it this week.
Today,
we are going to visit a lady named Vanessa, she got baptized 2 weeks
after I left B3, so I was there for almost all of her teaching. But she
invited a bunch of missionaries to come down into Madrid for a day. And
after that we have to sign a piso contract (Fun!!) for a couple that is
coming in. Soo fun days ahead, (WERE GOING CRAZY!!) (just kidding).
So, until next week,
Elder Johnson.
Also,
Elder Bagley is leaving the office in two weeks, and his replacement is
Elder Levorsen!! So I get to see him for the next 9 weeks or so that I
am here!
